# Adding an Event to an Investigation

USM Anywhere enables you to associate events with an investigation.

>
> **Important:** You can link up to 100 events to each investigation.

**To add an event to an investigation from the Events Details page**

1. Go to Activity > Event.

2. Locate the event you want to add to the investigation. See [Searching Events](https://levelblue-final.mintlify.site/documentation/usm-anywhere/user-guide/events/searching-events.md) for more information.

3. In the **Investigation** field, click the ![](https://mintcdn.com/levelblue-final/9sZfcBxWjCqErV1I/images/central-any-app/buttons/pencil-new.svg?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=9sZfcBxWjCqErV1I\&q=85\&s=9b85c10db02330c506a453a417e626a7) icon to edit it and enter the title or the number that identifies the investigation.

   > **Note:** Click **Create New Investigation** if you want to start a new investigation. See [Creating a New Investigation](https://levelblue-final.mintlify.site/documentation/usm-anywhere/user-guide/investigations/creating-new-investigation.md) for more information.

4. Click **Apply**.

   The connection has been done and you can see it from **Investigations**. See [Evidence on Investigations](https://levelblue-final.mintlify.site/documentation/usm-anywhere/user-guide/investigations/evidence.md) for more information.
